Welcome and thank you for visiting my website!

As you may have already figured out, I’m a new Christian author.

I was born in Evansville, Indiana and grew up in the tiny blip of a town called Richland City, Indiana.  Don’t let the word “city” fool you.  Richland’s population is only a few hundred.  Southern Spencer County was a great place to grow up; great friends, great teachers, and great community.

All the way up into high school, I thought I hated writing.  However, I found that I really enjoyed writing Christian blogs on Myspace, much to my surprise.  It turns out the subject and purpose of my writing made a huge difference in my motivation.

In fact, my love of writing grew so strong that I entered college with the intention of becoming a Christian writer.  Unfortunately, I soon thereafter decided writing wasn’t something I could turn into a career.

After high school, I moved right across the bridge to Owensboro, Kentucky for school.  I attended Kentucky Wesleyan College, where I graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in psychology.  This is certainly an interesting subject, but one I felt wasn’t a good career fit for me.  I stuck with the psychology degree out of a desire to stay on track to graduate a semester early, rather than take the normal four years to finish.

After graduation, I sought out the quickest path to management that I could find and ended up working in various nursing homes for four years.  These were four difficult years that really helped develop a strong foundation in managing people.  Around nine years ago, I moved into the hospital setting and continued gaining management experience in the revenue cycle.

For the past several years, I’ve been recording various writing ideas with the intention of one day starting a blog.  I had the fortune to have bought Willpower Doesn’t Work by Benjamin Hardy.  It sat on my shelf for a couple years until I finally picked it up to read.

Hardy’s book was the catalyst I needed to begin writing.  I decided to start writing some blogs to build up some posts before officially starting the blog.  Two of those topics just kept getting more and more fleshed out—they were just so easy to write.  I ultimately decided I would much rather be a book author than a blog author and those two chapters were an excellent start to my first book.

In 2012, I moved to Nashville, Tennessee and have lived in the area ever since.  I live with my wonderful wife, Nina, our two sons, Samuel and Lucas, and our one-eyed English Mastiff, Mushi.

Words can’t express how excited I am for such a huge dream of mine to finally be coming true.  It took a long time to reach this point, but I wouldn’t trade any of my past experience.  All things ultimately lead to good for Christians, even when we can’t see it in the moment (Romans 8:28).  Sometimes we don’t actually see any of that good on this side of eternity.  I thank God that he’s brought me to this point and allowed me to see some of the fruit.

After experiencing firsthand what a profound impact a single book could have on my life, I sincerely hope my writing has a similarly profound impact on the Christian lives of my readers.  Thank you for joining me on this journey.
